The Archbishop of Canterbury has weighed in on the ongoing commotion surrounding Kate Middleton’s post-surgery recovery.
The Prince and Princess of Wales have been subject to endless conspiracy theories and rumors in recent weeks, about everything from Middleton’s health and well-being to her whereabouts.
Now, British Anglican bishop Justin Welby, who crowned King Charles III during his May 6 coronation last year, has labeled the outside noise and rumors about the mom of three as “old-fashioned village gossip.”

“We are obsessed with conspiracy and we have little sense of the humanity of those who are caught in the glare of the news,” he told Times Radio Thursday.
“It doesn’t matter who it is, people should be allowed to be ill, have an operation, whatever it is, and to live their lives in peace without everyone demanding that they prove something every other day.”
“It’s the web that has made these conspiracy theories, for all kinds of people, run riot,” he continued.
“It’s extremely unhealthy. It’s just old-fashioned village gossip that can now go round the world in seconds. We have to turn away from that. Gossiping in that way is wrong.”

It comes as The Post heard exclusively that the Waleses are “keen” to put this chapter behind them.
“I think they’re keen to close the chapter on the gossip and the conspiracy theories and return the focus to the royals and their duties,” King Charles’s former butler Grant Harrold told The Post.
Rumors about the Princess only intensified after she was spotted with Prince William during a quick visit to a farm shop in Windsor.

Video footage and images of the royal obtained by The Sun showed Middleton looking well as she and William bought some fresh produce during the outing.
“She looks like she’s recovering well,” Harrold told us. “It might ease the pressure a little bit for the royal family, but people are still going to want to see more of Kate.”

“The more they see her in public, the less they will worry about her — that’s going to take time as obviously she’s not expected to return to full duties until later this year,” he added.
However, Harrold noted that the outing could have been “purposefully arranged” by palace officials to silence the noise.
Elsewhere, a palace source told The Post that it’s not been easy for William, 41, or Middleton, 42, to carry on with their daily lives as constant chatter about the pair continues.

Insiders tell The Post that they hope Middleton’s latest sighting is enough to quell wild conspiracy theories about her health.
She’s since returned to work, albeit from home, as she’s been focusing on a special early years project, the palace has confirmed.
