So much for baby steps.
A Gen Zer who had nearly “given up on love” ended up finding a man through a dating app — they conceived a baby a week later and now are celebrating almost two years of marriage.
Maggie and Danny Corbould, both 23, met in February 2022 after she downloaded Hinge. They say it was “love at first sight.”
“It was like a higher power that brought us together,” Maggie, a TV and film special effects coordinator from Windsor, England, told SWNS.
But the couple was “shocked” to learn in March 2022 that Maggie was pregnant — they figured out they must have conceived the baby a week after meeting.

Maggie and Danny, who was in the military at the time, decided to keep the baby and move in together.
They tied the knot in a small ceremony in June 2022 so they could get a military home.
Their son, Edward, was born in December 2022. The couple couldn’t be more thrilled.
“I think people expect us to have broken up,” Maggie confessed. “When I look back, I wouldn’t do it differently at all. That little boy is my whole world.”

But Maggie wasn’t sure she’d ever find “the one” after ending a six-year relationship in 2021.
“A year later, I thought, I’m just going to go on a dating app. I saw Danny’s profile, and I didn’t have any likes left,” she shared.
“I paid to do so and sent a message,” she continued. “We met on a whim and talked for hours in the car. We both really fell for each other.”
Maggie and Danny spent the next few days together and even got matching tattoos of crowns on their ankles a week later.
“I’m a very unsure person, but as soon as I met her, I knew I loved her,” Danny confided. “I wanted to be with her every day and spend all my time with her. I just had a feeling that I’d never felt with previous girlfriends.”

The happiness quickly turned to dismay when Maggie, who says she was on birth control, took a pregnancy test.
Danny thought she was joking when she shared the results.
Then Maggie had to break the news to her family.
“I had to ring my dad as he was on location in Malta and tell him, ‘I’m pregnant with a man you’ve never met and we’re getting married,’” Maggie recalled. “He said, ‘We’ll love it, but we won’t financially support it.’ My dad is now besotted with him.”
Danny immediately moved into the two-bedroom home where Maggie’s dad, special effects supervisor Ian Corbould, 65, was living.
But the couple knew they’d need something bigger with a little one on the way.
“I was scared at first because everything was happening so quickly, but there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted this baby with her,” Danny spilled. “As soon as I saw that first scan, all my worries went away.”
“I remember hearing some sort of weird noises,” Maggie said about Edward’s birth. “It was Danny just sobbing and holding him. It doesn’t feel real.” Maggie Corbould / SWNS
The pair made a joint decision to wed four months after meeting — to get military housing.
Maggie admits the whole process was “a roller coaster,” but said the pregnancy itself was “easy.”
She was induced at 37 weeks so Danny could meet Edward before he was deployed.
After two hours of labor and three or four pushes, Edward was born at 10:46 a.m., on Dec. 26, 2022.
He weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce.
“I remember hearing some sort of weird noises,” Maggie said. “It was Danny just sobbing and holding him. It doesn’t feel real.”

Now about 15 months old, “little brute” Edward is a happy lad who is learning to walk.
The family is looking forward to spending more time together since Danny stepped down from the army.
He’s working as a trainee in special effects.
“Now is the start of our journey as a family,” Maggie enthused.
Added Danny: “I love our little love story. I wouldn’t have changed anything. I love our little family and can’t wait for the rest of our future as the Corbould family.”
