Prince William has been a “great source” of support to Kate Middleton during her cancer diagnosis and chemotherapy treatment, the princess said Friday.
Middleton revealed that her medical crisis came as a “great shock” earlier this year and that her husband has been a crucial partner throughout her health journey.
“Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too,” she said while sharing her diagnosis in a video on Friday.

The Prince of Wales, who has not yet addressed his wife’ medical battle, had been largely mum as speculation swirled about her health for months.
The royal couple was forced to parry stories that he was carrying on an affair with Sarah Rose Hanbury, Marchioness of Cholmondele that had created a marital rift.
After her procedure, Kensington Palace announced that Kate would not be participating in any royal engagements.
William attended several events without his wife, including the BAFTAs, and a gathering with “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” star and Wrexham AFC co-owner Rob McElhenney.
But speculation began to balloon after he skipped a February memorial for his late godfather King Constantine of Greece.
With rumors running rampant, the couple appeared to share a tender moment together earlier this week during an outing to a farmer’s market near their Windsor home.
Nelson Silva, who recorded a video of the pair, said they appeared to be in good spirits.

William and Kate were “talking to staff and laughing,” Silva said, adding that they “just looked very happy and relaxed together.”
The princess has not yet revealed what type of cancer she is battling.
“The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present,” she said.
“My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”
Middleton, 42, is reportedly on the mend, and she’s been recovering behind closed doors since being discharged from the hospital on Jan. 29.
