Grand Canyon’s loss to Alabama may have best been suited for watching without sound.
TBS mics, unfortunately, captured the wailing of one uber-excited Antelopes fan, whose screams could be heard during the 72-61 loss to No. 4 seed Alabama in the second round Sunday night.
In one particular clip, as shared by Awful Announcing, the fan can be heard noticeably screaming for eight seconds after No. 12 seed Grand Canyon cut the deficit to one point in the second half.
Naturally, many had thoughts on said fan.
NFL RedZone host Scott Hanson tweeted: “Fun game! But someone please check on the shrieking Grand Canyon fan.”

X user @Stuckey2 of Action Network posted: “This Grand Canyon screaming fan needs to go.”
CBS Sports’ Mike McClure commented: “I don’t know what is more chaotic: the gameplay in Alabama vs. Grand Canyon, or the one screaming GCU fan that sounds like she’s controlling one of the cameras. #MarchMadness.”
That this fan became a point of discussion showcased the issues that can arise during live television.

It would appear that the high-pitched fan sat near one of the TBS mics, making for an unfortunate combination for the viewer.
There’s not much that can be done other than turning off said mic, which likely is not an option since it’s being used for obvious reasons.
Fans don’t have to worry about this fan continuing to have his or her “One Shining Moment” the rest of the tournament as the Antelopes fought valiantly but could not upset the Crimson Tide.

Grand Canyon took a 58-55 lead with 6:03 remaining and trailed by one point entering the under-four timeout, but Alabama went on a 10-0 in the final 3:48 to secure the win.
The Antelopes previously knocked off No. 5 seed Saint Mary’s.
Alabama meets No. 1 seed North Carolina on Thursday in the Sweet 16, while No. 2 seed Arizona battles No. 6 seed Clemson in the other West region matchup.
