Indian Wells is officially Upset City.

In the second round of the BNP Paribas Open, No. 1 ranked Novak Djokovic was improbably knocked out by No. 123 Luca Nardi.

Even wilder, the 20-year-old Nardi — who has posters of Djokovic in his childhood bedroom — came into the tournament as an injury replacement after having lost his match that would have qualified him.

“I think that before this night no one knew me,” the Italian upstart said following the shocking win, via the ATP. “I hope that the crowd enjoyed the game. I’m super happy with this one.”

However, there’s a lot more tourney to be played.

On Wednesday, March 13, the men’s and women’s singles matches determine the eight competitors that will duke it out in the BNP Paribas quarterfinals.

Big names still in the game include Coco Gauff, Daniil Medvedev, Taylor Fritz, and Aryna Sabalenka at the Open’s three stadiums.

Nardi is slated to face off against American player Tommy Paul.

And if you want to get in on the action, last-minute tickets are still available.

At the time of publication, some seats are going for as low as $39 before fees on Vivid Seats.

Other matches have tickets starting anywhere from $48 to $162 before fees.

BNP Paribas Open 2024 matches

Here’s a look at all the can’t-miss BNP Paribas battles taking place on Wednesday, March 13:

Stadium 1

11 a.m.: Emma Navarro vs. Aryna Sabalenka

Not before 1 p.m.: Elise Mertens vs. Coco Gauff

Followed by: Daniil Medvedev vs. Grigor Dimitrov

6 p.m.: Taylor Fritz vs. Holger Rune

Followed by: Wesley Koolhof/Nikola Mektic vs. Kevin Krawietz/Tim Puetz

About Stadium 1: The venue “features a lower bowl of seating, two suite levels and an upper ring of loge boxes and seating,” according to Forbes. “Every seat is ticketed. The suite level includes a mix of traditional suites and clubs, but in a singular twist that comes to life elsewhere on site, Stadium 1 also features a restaurant at suite level with views onto the court.”

Stadium 2

11 a.m.: Casper Ruud vs. Gael Monfils

Followed by: Luca Nardi vs. Tommy Paul

Not before 3 p.m.: Diane Parry vs. Maria Sakkari

6 p.m.: Yue Yuan vs. Daria Kasatkina

About Stadium 2: “The 8,000-seat venue has a more intimate feel that allows for ticketed seats in the lower bowl and access to grounds pass holders in the upper bowl,” Forbes writes. “Stadium 2 is where world-famous Nobu resides.”

Stadium 3

11 a.m.: Nicole Melichar-Martinez/Ellen Perez vs. Lyudmyla Kichenok/Jeļena Ostapenko

Not before 1:30 p.m.: Simone Bolleli/Andrea Vavassori vs. Marcel Granollers/Horacio Zeballos

Followed by: Hsieh Su-wei/Elise Mertens vs. Demi Schuurs/Luisa Stefani

About Stadium 3: “With a 6,270 capacity, it isn’t much smaller than Stadium 2, but lacks the amenities of a more permanent-feeling stadium,” Forbes detailed. “With lower-level seating available for reserved ticketing, much of the venue is first-come, first-served general admission, making this venue largely a bleacher-style sea of fans clamoring for a view of both singles and doubles players.”

Order of play came courtesy of the Palm Springs Desert Sun.
